With the launch of the new high-tech Floatech® system, GALFER, a braking system specialist, confirms itself as a highly innovative and constantly evolving company.
At high temperatures (from about 200°C), the braking surface tends to expand in all directions; the Floatech® system by GALFER allows this dimensional variation to be limited, avoiding possible blocking problems between the surface and the core.
The system allows the braking surface to expand freely so as not to limit the floating effect, thanks to the integration of a mechanical system consisting of washers and a preloaded spring. The spring presses on the braking surface, fixing it in place and always ensuring correct alignment with the pads. This eliminates the free movement that characterizes most of the racing brake discs available on the market, avoiding pressure on the pads that would make braking difficult. The new Floatech® system therefore guarantees perfect self-alignment between the disc and the pads, at all times, so that the caliper pistons always remain in the position defined by the braking system manufacturer and offer much more stable braking.
The new gold nitrided pins that join the two parts of the brake disc (track and core) improve the thermal disjunction between the latter.

This highly technological system is the result of the constant development activity that the GALFER research, development and innovation department carries out in close collaboration with the riders involved in the most important motorcycle competitions in the world (MotoGP and WSBK).
The “Disc Wave®” represents the best example of research and development by Galfer. Laser cut, stainless steel. There is a direct application of competitive technology for any user. Direct replacement system that does not require brackets or any extra parts, it bolts just like a stock disc would.
